Change at the Helm of Schleuniger
Our CEO Christoph Schüpbach has decided to take on a new professional challenge after more than 11 extremely successful years and will leave the Schleuniger family at the end of September. During his tenure at Schleuniger, Schüpbach led the international technology company through an impressive development, initiated and expanded the areas of digitization, automation and testing, which laid the groundwork for our entry into the market for wire and function testing systems. Of particular note is the creation of a business division for the increasingly important testing technologies and test automation. In spite of the coronavirus pandemic in the current year, Schleuniger was able to attain a leading market position for testing within 5 years, culminating with the recent acquisition of the US-based Cirris Systems Corporation. And under the leadership of Christoph Schüpbach, Schleuniger acquired DiIT GmbH — the globally leading supplier of manufacturing execution systems (MES) for the production of cable sets and wire harnesses — and entered numerous other strategically relevant partnerships.
Succeeding Christoph Schüpbach as CEO is Michael Weis. Michael Weis studied automation technology at the Fachhochschule (technical college) in Ulm, including robotics and corporate management. He served as General Manager in the Management Board for the past four years as well as CEO/President of the EMEA Division Automotive for the past two and a half years at KUKA Systems, a business segment of KUKA AG, headquartered in Augsburg, Germany. With his leadership experience at robotics manufacturer KUKA — a company that has established itself globally in the conception, planning and implementation of production systems, plus system integration and manufacturing of investment solutions for the automotive industry — he brings vast technical expertise to the Schleuniger Group. Michael Weis is a German national and has officially assumed his duties at Schleuniger as of 14th September 2020.
